Short Stories. The Rise and Fall.

So, this post is going to be talking mostly about the art or scourge of deception depending on your view.

WARNING: SPOILERS

Mary Maloney is described as a loving wife who is completely devoted to her spouse. When Mr.Maloney drops a bomb on her (not literally ) by telling her that hes leaving her to pursue another love interest She is so stricken with despair by it that she morphs into a whole new person. She changed completely not only in character but also in her thinking. She ended up killing her husband in cold blood and getting away with it scot free by getting rid all the evidence and deceiving the police and tricking a shopkeeper into testifying that she was not at the scene of the crime at the time of the murder.

Now, moving on to the deception in Male Child. Initially, Chuan Poon was described as a caring and thoughtful husband and father. It is later revealed that after having six daughters, he suspects that he is wrought with a curse that he can never father a son He thinks that it was because he did wrong when he was younger. Later, his spouse becomes pregnant .Chuan Poon prays to have a male child this time round. Unfortunately, he meets a prostitute at a brothel which he wants to take as his wife. He then cannot decide whether to stay with his faithful wife or marry the prostitute whom he desires. He especially detests it when other clients visits the prostitute to engage in her services. Finally, Chuan Poon decides to take the prostitute. Now, ironically, he hopes his wife will give birth to a daughter once again as this will allow him take the prostitute as h is bride because he can say that his wife is not giving him a heir. In conclusion, Mary maloney was a prson who could not face reality and could not take any pressure or shock or she would really turn nasty. As for Chuan poon, actions indeed speak louder than words
